Newfoundland is one of the largest Canadian islands located off the eastern coast of north American main land. It boarders the worlds estuary called Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The earliest founders of this island are the French people. Its area is around a hundred thousand square kilometers. It is the 16th largest island in the world but the fourth largest island of Canada. Newfoundland has its provincial capital at St Johns located at the northern parts of the island. According to the census that was undertaken in Canada in the year 2016, reveal that most of the residents of the island are British origin people. Newfoundland is one of the most interesting culture archeological sites. Since this is one of the newest place where the Europeans settled, it has history about European colonization. There are fantastic provincial parks like Barachois pond. This is a provincial park that is considered to be one of the model forest of Canada. Its climate is cool and silent with many kinds of birds producing melodious sounds as one move across the park. The park is divided in to two parks with all the parks having their own uniqueness and freshness.
Towards the western Newfoundland island coast, Gros Morne national park is located. This is the park that was designate to be the world’s heritage site in the year 1987 by UNESCO. The park also is the largest park in the land of Canada. It covers an area of about two thousand square kilometers.
